We return for our fourth Ecstatic Dance Oakville — this time landing on International Women’s Day.

This edition honours the feminine current within all of us — intuition, creativity, resilience, and rhythm — while welcoming every body to the floor. The intention is inclusive. The energy is elevated.

Our previous gatherings brought together over 80 dancers in a conscious, heart-centered environment rooted in music, embodiment, and community. Each event continues to grow while maintaining a respectful and intentional container.

Set inside the serene atmosphere of My Vitae Sanctuary, the afternoon unfolds as a live DJ-curated musical journey moving in waves — from grounding rhythms and gentle arrival into dynamic global grooves, emotional release, and a spacious closing for integration.

This edition features DJ Amanda Elemental.

Amanda began DJing in 2006, creating an inclusive electronic music night in her university town. What began as a small DIY gathering grew into a weekly community event that ran for over a decade — bringing people together to dance, connect, and belong.

From Portland to Puerto Viejo, her sets weave house, techno, afro house, and tech house with subtle threads of her Palestinian roots. She moves fluidly between ecstatic ceremonies, underground dance floors, and sunlit gatherings, guiding dancers through rhythm, emotion, and release.

What Is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement journey — an invitation to move however your body wants to move.

There are no steps to learn, no choreography, and no expectations. It is a practice of self-expression, mindfulness, release, and embodied listening.

The music flows in waves — beginning slow and grounding, building into higher-energy rhythms, and eventually softening into stillness. This progression allows the body to move through sensation, emotion, energy, and rest.

Each dance is held in a respectful, substance-free space that encourages participants to step out of the mind and into the body.

It’s not about how you look — it’s about how you feel.

What Is Chocolate Groove?

For the past seven years, Chocolate Groove has hosted conscious, intentional celebrations designed to bring people together through music, movement, and community.

As a staple sober dance experience in Toronto, Chocolate Groove blends nightlife energy with a wellness-oriented environment. Since hosting its first alcohol-free dance in 2018, the gatherings have continued to evolve — offering ecstatic dance, ceremony, and meaningful connection within a safe and inclusive space.

At its core, Chocolate Groove is more than a dance party.
It is a community — a place for authentic expression, presence, and shared celebration.
