Cacao Workshop & Ceremony with Love
Saturday, May 30
1:00-3:30PM
About This Event
Have you ever wondered what cacao is really about?
Are you curious about its origins, or why we even drink this medicine?!
Join us for a heart opening Cacao Workshop and Ceremony led by Love, inside the serene space of My Vitae.
In this afternoon gathering, Love shares her wisdom and lived experience with cacao from the BriBri tribe from Costa Rica. She will guide you through what cacao is, how it’s made, where it comes from, and the deeper teachings behind why cacao ceremonies exist.
Together we will learn, prepare ceremonial cacao, offer our intentions, and sit in circle as we receive it, followed by song and connection.
What to Expect
• Learn sacred teachings around cacao
• Learn about the history, origins, and teachings of cacao
• Witness how cacao can be prepared in an intentional way
• Explore cacao as a fruit with cultural roots, tradition, and deeper meaning
• Be brought into circle to receive the cacao within a ceremonial setting
• Sing cacao medicine songs that honour cacao and support the ceremony
• Slow down, listen inward, and connect with yourself and the group
• Be held inside the calm and restorative environment of My Vitae
About Love
Love is an internationally travelled artist whose work is rooted in a deep connection to the Earth and the ethereal realms, finding the balance between the two.
She has been singing since she was a little girl and brings over 15 years of vocal training across many styles into her work. A multidisciplinary artist, she plays intuitive piano, crystal bowls, voice, shruti box, harmonicas, and percussion. She is also a dancer, which is an integral part of her artistry.
Having performed in Portugal, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Canada, Love carries a global influence into her music. She lives a life connected to her heart, being present with others and living a joyful life full of adventure. Her offerings are created to support deep peace, connection to self, and an experience of the infinite that lies beyond.
Invitation
We begin in circle with teachings on cacao, rooted in Love’s time living with the BriBri tribe in the southwest of Costa Rica near the border of Panama. She lived alongside their families deep in the jungle, without running water or electricity, learning their ways and developing a deep relationship with cacao.
There will be space for questions, and then we will move into the kitchen at My Vitae. If you’ve ever wondered how cacao is made, this is your opportunity to learn and experience it hands on. Love has served cacao countless times and will share what she has learned along the way.
After preparing it, we will infuse the cacao with intention, drink together, and Love will guide two traditional cacao songs for us to share.
For those feeling called to lead their own cacao ceremonies, this is an opportunity to learn the foundations of holding your own offerings.
